Cost questions before you book

Why should I choose Prime Cargo instead of the cheapest courier quote?

The cheapest quote is not always the lowest final cost. Prime Cargo combines freight, receiving, consolidation, clearance support, tracking, and delivery guidance so fewer surprises appear after the shipment is already moving.

For UK to Kenya cargo, the public guide rates are GBP 6.99/kg for air freight and GBP 2.99/kg for sea freight, with the final quote based on the cargo details you submit.

Will my price change after I submit a request?

The calculator gives an estimate from the information entered. The final charge can change if the actual weight, dimensions, declared value, dangerous goods status, consolidation details, or delivery requirements differ after inspection.

The team confirms chargeable details before billing so you can approve the practical route before the shipment continues.

Are there hidden fees?

Prime Cargo aims to make the core shipping costs visible before you commit. Some costs depend on the shipment itself, such as insurance for high-value cargo, dangerous goods handling, customs duties, destination delivery, or supplier-side charges.

If a shipment needs an extra service, the team explains it before adding it to your order.

Trust and control

Confidence while your cargo is moving

How do I know my shipment will not disappear?

Every submitted shipment request receives a Prime Cargo tracking number. You can use the Track and Trace page to follow the shipment status from intake through transit and delivery.

The account area also keeps shipment history in one place, which helps regular customers avoid scattered WhatsApp, email, and supplier updates.

What happens if my supplier sends multiple packages?

Prime Cargo supports consolidation. Add supplier tracking numbers and package details in your account so the team can connect related items before shipping where possible.

Consolidation can reduce avoidable handling and makes it easier to ship online purchases together instead of managing each parcel separately.

Can I speak to someone before paying?

Yes. You can contact the UK or Kenya office before booking, or use the WhatsApp button on the site for quick questions about your route, cargo type, timing, and documents.

This is especially useful for high-value goods, car parts, electronics, commercial stock, or anything that may need customs advice.

Timing and delivery

Speed, delays, and expectations

How fast is air freight from the UK to Kenya?

Air freight is the faster option and is best for urgent, high-value, or time-sensitive cargo. The service page notes a standard UK to Kenya timeframe of 3-5 working days once cargo is ready and processed.

Customs checks, supplier delays, incorrect paperwork, or unpaid charges can affect timing, so clear shipment details help prevent avoidable delays.

When should I choose sea freight?

Sea freight is better for larger, heavier, or less urgent cargo where cost matters more than speed. It is commonly used for commercial stock, household goods, bulky items, and shipments that do not need air movement.

If you are unsure, send the item list, weight, dimensions, and desired delivery window. The team can recommend the route that best balances cost and urgency.

Do you offer door-to-door delivery?

Door-to-door options are available on supported routes. Availability and cost depend on the pickup point, delivery address, shipment size, and any destination handling requirements.

For the most accurate answer, include both addresses or area names when requesting a quote.

Risk and compliance

Customs, insurance, and restricted cargo

Who handles customs clearance?

Prime Cargo provides customs clearance support and guidance. The team helps with documentation and clearance steps, but customers still need to provide accurate item descriptions, values, invoices, and any required supporting documents.

Clear declarations reduce the risk of customs holds, extra inspection, penalties, or delivery delays.

Should I insure high-value goods?

Yes. Prime Cargo requires additional insurance for high-value goods over GBP 1,000. The current policy page explains the premium bands and why insurance is needed before accepting liability for high-value shipments.

Declare electronics, designer items, machinery, car parts, medical equipment, and luxury goods accurately before shipping.

Can you ship batteries, liquids, or sensitive items?

Some items need special handling, extra documentation, or may be restricted. Lithium batteries, liquids, chemicals, aerosols, medicines, food items, and branded goods should be declared before you send them to the warehouse.

The team will advise whether the item can move by air, should move by sea, needs a surcharge, or cannot be accepted.

Still deciding?

Send the shipment details and get a practical route recommendation.

Include item type, weight, dimensions, supplier tracking, declared value, pickup point, and destination. Prime Cargo can advise whether air, sea, consolidation, or extra documentation makes the most sense.
